Max
Max, a 10-year-old male Shih Tzu weighing 5.4 kg, was brought to us in July 2025 with a chronic skin condition.
On taking his history, we learned that Max was constantly itchy, especially around the ears, face, limbs, groin and dorsum, and would frequently lick his paws. His itch level was around 5–6/10, and he was also very uncomfortable with topical applications.
Diagnostics performed:
- Ear swabs
- Tape smears from multiple affected areas
Both tests showed heavy amounts of yeast and bacteria along with inflammatory cells, indicating an active skin infection with inflammation.
Treatment plan initiated:
- Cytopoint injection for itch control
- Oral long-term anti-inflammatories
- Antibiotics and steroids
- Weekly baths with a medicated shampoo
- Skin and coat supplements
- Regular flea control as part of the management plan
On follow-up visits, Max showed clear improvement. He appeared more comfortable and less itchy, and his skin condition had improved significantly.
The next step is to continue with a long-term maintenance plan to help keep Max’s skin condition stable and under control. 🐾

August 19, 2025I love this theme. Sometimes it’s difficult to work with some themes, because even if they are created with Elementor, you can’t edit all the things with Elementor. Is not the case of Bili. All is created with Elementor and you don’t need Elementor Pro.
