Gabbar
Meet Gabbar, a male 4 yr old St Bernard who was presented with history of Pustules and dermatitis around the genital area which started becoming hyperpigmented.
He was 8/10 itchy and had non healing ulcerated wound on the ventral abdominal area.
His Ears, Groin area, paws and the ulcerated wound were the main areas of concern.
Samples were taken for cytology.
Diagnostics-
- Left ear – Cocci 2+
- Right Ear – Cocci 3+, Yeast 2+
- Paws – Yeast 4+
- Groin – Cocci 2+
- Ulcerated wound – Macrophages, Nuclear streaming, Neutrophils and Rods – 1+
Gabbar was put on oral anti inflammatories for long duration along with systemic steroids along with topical corticosteroids with antibiotic and antifungal creams. Omega Supplements and medicated baths were recommended regularly.
